Ubabalo eAfrica
Life skillsA Leadership and Life Skills programme through Whole Life Soccer Coaching
Come June 2010, the eyes of millions of visitors and billions of TV viewers will be fixed on the southern tip of Africa. South Africa will host the FIFA Football World CupTM, the first time the world's premier sporting event will be held on African soil. Our objective is to transform African youth through whole life coaching. Aspiring young adults will be trained to coach soccer skills. Ubabalo eAfrica will incorporate life skills into the soccer skills. This is the key to “paradigm shift” soccer coaching into whole life coaching.
We have a comprehensive curriculum that will facilitate coaches and players to develop sound values. The curriculum will capture every aspect of one’s being. We want to present a wholistic coaching experience, both for the coach and his players.
Ubabalo eAfrica begins now. The coach meets his/her team of 18 youths each week for 30 weeks. After a year the players would have gone through 60 sessions of leadership and life skills coaching, in addition to soccer coaching. Ubabalo eAfrica is a 5-year program.
As the world is treated to a spectacular festival of soccer in 2010, the dream is to see a continent celebrating a renaissance of leadership – 1.3 million dynamic future leaders.
